Week 75 - December 19 - December 25

Dear Almost Big Kids,

You have begun to eat your meals and snacks at a small table in the kitchen.  William, you get easily distracted by everything around you and want to carry around food and drink.  Grace, we think we enjoy eating so much that you sit more to eat and drink.  Usually you both start at the table and then we move you to your highchairs.

Signing continues to work well.  You both sign please, bird, and fish.  William, you sign thank you too.  The sign for Mommy remains elusive.  The sign for Dada applies to both of us for now.

Betsy delivered an apple crumb cheesecake for Christmas night dessert.  It looks great!

Christmas morning was much like any other morning for you both.  We changed your diapers and played up stairs before having breakfast ... then to presents.  You wanted to play with the dog pull alongs (as they were open gifts).  Not much interest in opening gifts.  Once opened, you played with everything and the fireplace poker and fatwood too!  You napped and then we finished opening gifts and had a late lunch.  We went for a walk around the neighborhood with you in your new double wagon and long-sleeve tees from Seattle.  It was nearly 50 degrees so we had lighter jackets on.  In the afternoon, the Young's invited us over for a visit.  We took your new wagon across the street and visited with Carolyn, George and Abby.  We ate Christmas cookies -- yum, yum!

You napped again and Mommy and Dada took a cat-nap.  Dada played with you both and Mommy started preparing for dinner in the afternoon.  Harry enjoyed his special dog bones.  We had a new dinner menu and did it easy (at least compared to previous years) -- chicken kiev, string beans with bacon and balsamic vinegar, salad, and cosmos.  Since you do not enjoy meat at this point, you had mac-n-cheese, sweet potatoes, and bananas.  Dada makes a mean cosmo!

As they say, you both made out like bandants.  Lots of stuffies, books, a wagon, tee-shirts, sweat outfits, bath sponges, trains, two Aquadoodles, and a funky keyboard.  Of course, you received ornaments from Mommy and Dada, Grammie, and Rob, Judi and August.

We are off to play with you.

We love you,

Mommy and Dada
