Babies - Week 38 - Apr. 4 - Apr. 10

Dear Munchie Girl and Big Boy,

This is week one of our new nannies together -- Natasha is here Mondays and Fridays and Elizabeth is here Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Yea, we have consistency with your care during the day.  So far, so good with Natasha and Elizabeth.

The new house has a great view of the water which looks great with the sun hitting it. Your Dada has been working very hard on getting new windows for the house, at least new windows on the second floor, where we will mostly live (so to speak).  So by early May, 15 windows should be in and ready for installation!  The house is getting painted, hardwood floor sanding and finishing begins next week, a few boxes have been moved and even unpacked, and fresh contact paper in the kitchen is complete (and about one-half of the kitchen moved and in place).  It is amazing what people do and do not clean in their homes.  With the help of a putty knife, 409 cleaner, sponge, lots of fresh water and paper towels, we now have kitchen shelves fitting our dishes and glasses!  Dada removed the pink carpet in William's room and we found hardwoods.  We also found two carpet pieces that are being bound for area rugs in two of the three bedrooms (we are still on the lookout for a another piece of carpet).

This week started warm (and finished warm too), with temps in the 60s Sunday.  All of us went for a walk with Harry at Twin Brook in Cumberland.  You did not need jackets, just sunscreen and sunglasses.

William, you and Mommy enjoyed some one-on-one time Tuesday morning and then bonk, our heads met.  Mommy's head hurt, you cried and with tears so we called the clinic and Cher said to come in for an infusion.  It was scary for Mommy because the clinic nurses could not find a vein -- they tried one hand (top of hand), one crease of an elbow and even a foot.  Before we left for the clinic, Mommy put lidocaine cream on two sites like the clinic said and of course, when looking for a vein, they could not use either lidocaine cream site.  You are a healthy baby and have chubby limbs which makes it difficult to find a vein.  After five tries and time running out on the factor (it needs to be consumed within three hours of being reconstituted), we went to the Barbara Bush Hospital at Maine Medical Center.  Dr McElwain, a pediatric hospitalist, searched and searched and found a vein on her second try.  Between the rain stick that distracted you and Dr McElwain's calming way, you cried like when you get an immunization (considerably less than earlier).  So now we have more Helixate in the refrig since you, William, are growing and gaining weight.

You both saw Theresa this week.  We are working with you, William, as you are not wild about rolling over, but once you are on your belly, you can back up to sitting.  Grace, you enjoy sitting and have taken to doing push ups on your hands and toes with your rear in the air.  You both are happy babies, smiling lots!

More painting to do -- and sleep too!  This week Mommy drafted this letter with love -- for you and Dada too!
