Week 48 - June 13 - June 19

Dear Eleven Monthers --

This week, you are eleven months old, on the 16th.  Between the awesome crawling you are both doing and Grace, your standing (somewhat like a cowgirl), and William, your cruising around things (from the gate to door to pack-n-pack, crib to wall, etc.), we are pleased.  Theresa, your PT, is ever-demanding (in a good way) and wants you two to be walking so Mommy and Dada will spend more time (along with Elizabeth and Natasha) holding out our fingers so you can grab a hold and then we will walk with you.  You both enjoy being picked up and it is especially hard for Mommy to not pick you up when you put your cute little arms around Mommy's neck.

You both very much enjoy your food -- in your hands, sometimes in your mouths, in your hair, on your body, etc.  So we strip you to the diaper when you eat and you eat with abandon.  William, you are quite vocal if the food does not come in your mouth via spoon or by your hand quickly.  Grace, we think you are teething more as you are chewing more on food chunks.  You are getting more frequent baths and it is a good thing, you need them with your eating patterns.  Baths are more enjoyable for us if we bathe you in the morning before work although sometimes you get wet before bedtime.  Sometimes you both gets baths or only one of you in a day, followed by the other the next day.  Saturday, Dada took several good pictures of you both, Grace standing looking at William in the tub.

Saturday you went to your first baseball game.  The Sea Dogs played Erie Sea Wolves and the hemophilia group met there for a BBQ and fun. We had a good time and met a few people.

Natasha's birthday was Friday.  She turned the big 2-1.  We hope that she had a nice time in Boston and know that you both cannot wait to see her Monday.

Guess who is talking?  Both of you!  William, you first word is mommamommamomma -- a run-on word and Grace, you like saying baba, dada, and mommamomma.  We love hearing you and seeing your own reaction to your words.  Your little mouths are quite animated when you speak.

Dada has come home all this week to go back to work much of the time after you are in bed.  He has a few huge projects that are demanding his time.  And Mommy has cut back her work travel schedule in the hopes of getting relief from back pain, numbness, etc.

We have experienced a dramatic drop in temperatures this week. Monday, the temps were in the 90s with high humidity and by Tuesday and Wednesday, the temps dropped 40 degrees. We are back to long sleeves and jackets.  The heat is on in your room.  The weeds like the cooler temps and more rain.

The boys, Aaron and Nate, worked on your rooms this week -- they are tackling your room, Grace, first.  It is beginning to look great -- one window is complete so far and the trim scraping is coming along, then onto to your room, William.  Dada is cutting out the split wallpaper that has bulged over the years on the wall.  The house is coming together and not soon enough for everyone!

Father's Day was Sunday.  You both had cute new outfits on and gave Dada a shade canopy for the backyard with zipped in mosquito netting, a laser level (and tripod), and best of all, your footprints on yellow cardstock with a love note!  We enjoyed dinner at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport.  It is a lovely hotel just down the street from LL Bean.  You both behaved very well and tried steak, smashed potatoes, and a bit of blueberry pie, eating each of you eating a scrambled egg.

We love you,

Dada and Mommy
