Babies - Week 46 - May 30 - June 5

Dear active ones:

Elizabeth, Natasha and Mommy and Dada are hopping -- hopping to keep up with you.  Both of you are crawling adeptly and even beginning to stand for a second or two.  We have started to see you let go while standing, especially you, Grace. Theresa, the PT, asked us to use your knee pads less, William, as they constrict your ability to straighten your legs so with some trepidation, you are wearing your knee pads about half the day.  And we are happy to report that you did not have a bleed this week -- the helmet is a beautiful thing.  Now that you have the correct size, your head matches your body.  Mommy bought you a small slide that we have inside your day nursery.  Neither of you are sure what it is or how to play with at this point.

Dada heard you, Grace, say Dada.  Mommy thinks Dada imagined it (just kidding)!  You are definitely beginning to vocalize sounds more audibly.  Your brother seems to enjoy listening to you.  And he has started to smile just before he spits his food out of his mouth (and at us).  William, you are quite cute and have an incredible ability to get Mommy's shirt dirty with the food that stains the most.

We took Harry to the Memorial Day parade at Downtown Portland Monday.  He loved it and you two did pretty well with the crowd and sirens.  There were a few old timers in the parade along with more recent vets, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts too.  The weather was warmish, probably in the 60s.  Saturday, we had our first day over 80 -- hooray.  Dada put the screens in the new windows -- they look so good.  And Natasha helped us find someone who will be coming to the house next week to quote painting the windows, trim, etc.  We figure that we probably have two years of painting trim if Mommy and Dada painted evenings and weekends.

Mommy had a MRI this week on her lower back looking for why she is having pain in her leg and foot.  More to come here.

You love going to the park to swing with Elizabeth and walking around the Back Cove with both Elizabeth and Natasha -- and we have the pictures that show it! It is a good thing, as you, William, are now not the good sleeper and Grace, you sleep like a trooper.  In fact, Friday you slept until 10am after having an early morning bottle snack -- will you be moving to the teenage years soon?

This weekend was the Children's Miracle Network Telethon.  We were selected to be one of the miracle families so off we went to WGME13 for you to have your TV debut on camera.  Dada was surprised at how small the studio was relative to what we see on TV from home.

A friend of Mommy's is having surgery next Tuesday and we ask everyone to pray for her quick recovery.

We love you,

Dada and Mommy
