Babies - Week 24 - Dec. 27 - Jan. 2

Dear babes,

It is just after Christmas and including New Year's Day.  It was a quiet week this week.  Mommy was with you Monday, worked some of the week, exchanged a few Christmas gifts, and visited a friend, Nancy in the hospital.  We are very thankful that she is improving very rapidly and hopefully can come home at end of this week.  Like Mommy, she is in the Richards Wing at Maine Medical Center, just a different floor.

We connected with Father Paul and look forward to seeing him later in January.  He sounded great on the phone!  Mommy and Dada are getting more comfortable with entertaining (BB -- before babes) small groups of people at the house and you two, are quite the social beings.

The temps have been cold but sunny.  Dada used the snowblower for the first time this week since we had drifting snow in the driveway.  We think winter is really here in Maine but are concerned, like last year, with the lack of snow cover for the plants in the garden.  Hopefully the primrose, strawberries, sedums, and other flowering plants will survive. We cannot wait to see tulips -- and have just 90-120 days to wait!

Dada bought a delightful bottle of champagne for Mommy and Dada to celebrate the New Year.  We poopered out though and fell asleep before the ball dropped in New York City.  We did, though, wake up after midnight to see the view from our bedroom.  Many houses were lit up, still with Christmas lights and the water was calm.

Mommy's friend at work, Carolyn, helped Mommy with Operation Office Clean-Up!  It looks great and the pictures of you two are prominently displayed for all to see.  Upon return to the office on Monday, the 3rd, we could fly a plane on the desk surface -- a first!

William, you are officially out of 3-6 month clothing.  They are too short or you are too long and your sister, Grace has double the clothes in her closet (and becoming the clothes horse as they say).  The teething continues, no teeth yet, just lots of drool and fingers and thumbs in mouths.  Grace, you seem to enjoy the rice cereal in your formula -- certainly less spit up at this point -- and you smile so widely when looking at your brother and especially when he talks to you.  We wonder what you two communicate about !

Happy New Year babes!  Love,

Dada and Mommy
