Babies - Week 22 - Dec. 13 - Dec. 19

Dear Grace and William (AKA Munchie Girl and Sumo Boy),

You both are getting so big – Grace, you weight 12lbs, 14oz and William, you are a whopping 15lbs, 6oz.  It seems that your weight gains may be leveling off a bit – thank goodness!

Dada had minor surgery this week, so Mommy was in charge of the overnights Wednesday and Thursday.  You were good kids, taking turns on your feedings.

Mommy finished Christmas shopping for Dada.  You both told me what Dada wanted from Freeport.  Dada will enjoy your gifts on Christmas morning!  And one of you whispered in Mommy’s ear what Dada bought Mommy – and she will be happy this Christmas!

We will need to make Santa cookies so he will visit our house.  We will also need to remember not to have a fire on Christmas Eve so we do not light Santa’s rear on fire!

You have special Christmas outfits that you will wear to Mass.  Red velvet with green holly leaves.  William, your outfit is a footed sleeper and Grace, yours is a dress.

We invited dear friends for Christmas this year – Anne, Karen, Melodie and Allan.  Mommy decided to prepare an untraditional dinner – seafood enchiladas, using Yoli’s red sauce and lobster, crab and shrimp for stuffing.  What a feast we will have!

So far, you are making out like bandits under the tree.  We have very generous family and friends.  Based on the size of boxes and packages (and irregular sizes), it would seem that there will be very little, if any, duplicates.  We decided to decorate a smaller tree this year (just about six feet) and the gifts are spilling over.  Wow, the house seems to be getting smaller and smaller. Hopefully we will be able to interview builders soon and enlarge the house next year!

Dada is working many hours this week getting ready to take time off closer to Christmas!  Mommy has vacation to use by the end of the year so she will take most of next week off.  While Katherine is on vacation next week, we have a part-time replacement nanny, Melissa.  We are looking forward to meeting her and having additional childcare resources.  And you are always lucky when Melodie can walk across the street to watch you.

Katherine’s birthday was this week so we celebrated her birthday with Chinese take-out Thursday.  With her new-found weight loss, she brought new jeans and you both decided she needed a new warm, wool sweater from Beans and some yummy smelling lotion.

Your dog, Harry, visited the doctor this week.  He gets shots just like you; this time, he needed a kennel cough shot.  Harry enjoys riding in the car and going to the vet and does not associate the vet’s office with shots, which is great!

Only one week to Christmas and Santa!

We love you,

Dada and Mommy
