Babies - Week 18 - Nov. 15 - Nov. 21

ATTENTION --

Grace and William will be baptized Sunday, November 28th (the Sunday after Thanksgiving) at Holy Cross Church during 10am mass. We (David and Victoria) were married four years ago in May during mass at Holy Cross Church.  In honor of Father Paul, who we miss very much (he was a fan of community and sharing sacraments with the parish), we asked to have the babes baptized during mass so the babes are a part of the Holy Cross community.  Both Victoria's Mom, Susan, and good family friend, MaryEllen FitzGerald will be the babes' godparents.

The babes will wear Victoria's grandparents' christening gowns.  These gowns are more than 95 years old.  They are being hand-carried, via plane, to Maine from Victoria's Mom and we cannot wait to see them.  In fact, both Victoria and her brother, Robert, were baptized in these gowns, as well as their cousins and second cousins.

We have much to be thankful for.  As we have shared the our lives and the babes' development so far, if you want to share in our special day, please join us at Holy Cross Church on Cottage Road in South Portland at 10am.

Dear Grace and William,

You had your four month visit to the pediatrician this week!  Dr Steve says that we can cut out one overnight feeding -- yea.  William, you have already mostly cut this out on your own.  Grace, you are our social middle-of-the-night butterfly -- getting us up at least three times (sometimes four times a night)!  Dada wants to wait until you weigh 12 or 13lbs in the hopes that you will begin sleeping for longer periods of time on your own.  We cannot believe how much weight you both have put on -- William, you weigh 13lbs, 3oz and Grace, you weigh 11lb, 8oz.  Now even Grace, your 0-3 month clothes don't fit.  We are moving into the 3-6 monthers -- and finally not too much pink.

Grammy and Poppa are coming to New England at the end of this week.  First to Boston, then to Cousin August's house in New Hampshire and then finally to see us for Thanksgiving.  With them, are the christening gowns you will wear from Mommy's grandparents when you both are baptized.  Farther McAllister will be the priest at Holy Cross Church to baptize you both.  Mommy is looking high and low for white/cream sleepers to wear under the gowns so you will not be cold.

So for Thanksgiving, we will have Grammy, Poppa, Robert, Judi, August (Mommy's brother and family), Katherine (you know Katherine!), and all of us!  It should be great fun -- we will be having turkey (thanks to Robert's company), crab cakes, smashed potatoes, broccoli salad (thanks to Judi and Grammy), carrots, stuffing, gravy, apple crumb pie, pumpkin pie, and chocolate-chip cookies (thanks to Judi and August).  A real feast!

William, you are reaching for toys -- and with your left hand.  Cool -- Mommy is left handed too!  Grace, you are showing us your cute personality.  You continue to love to sleep and look at people and lights.  You both are smiling back to us and cooing!  We have waiting a long time for this!

Theresa, the PT, likes your development -- whatever we are doing, keep it up she says.  This is music to Mommy and Daddy's ears!

We are late getting the Thanksgiving cards and photos out to family and friends so everyone can see your development -- oops!

Grandma Jan (on Dada’s side of the family) made beautiful quilts for you both.  Grace, your quilt has pink, rose, and green fabric pieces with a big bunny in the middle and William, you have yellow and two shades of green with a bunny too.  And on the back, Grandma Jan autographed your quilts with love.  They are keepsakes yet Grandma Jan says to use so you both are enjoying them in your cribs.

We love you,

Dada and Mommy
